invisalign treatment in Carmel, IN

Finding comfortable adult braces that won’t be embarrassing is a chore for residents in Carmel, IN! There are so many solutions out there, but most of them you wouldn’t want to touch with a ten-foot pole!

After all, how many adults do you know who would feel confident wearing their tinsel teeth to the next big meeting? Or walking into their kids’ school? Or addressing their new neighbors? We don’t want to deal with all of that, and so many adults go without orthodontic treatment when it could be very beneficial! After all, they could be wearing Invisalign!

Orthodontic care has many benefits. It will improve the way your smile looks, but it will also improve the way your smile FEELS. We will get into that more later, but know that when we talk about adults wearing an orthodontic solution, we see many more possibilities than most other dentists.

Today, we want to give you a guide of Invisalign clear aligner treatment. We want you to fully understand your options with Invisalign and the many ways it can benefit you over the next 12-18 months. Let’s get started!

Who Can Benefit?

As we mentioned above, we see Invisalign benefits that other patients do not see. Of course, there are cosmetic benefits to any type of orthodontic care. Your smile will be straight and beautiful, maybe for the first time in your life. You can close unwanted gaps, end crowding of your teeth, and take care of overlapping teeth. But that’s not the end of the benefit!

Because of our specialty in neuromuscular dentistry, we understand that by adjusting the alignment of your teeth, we can actually correct major problems with your jaw. The muscles of your jaw and the alignment of your teeth will affect the way your jaw joints feel. If we can adjust your teeth to ease the pressure on your muscles and joints, you will benefit immediately with less pain and more comfortable chewing!

Not only will you have less pain, but we can actually give older patients a bit of a facelift with Invisalign orthodontics! That’s right, a facelift! We often use Invisalign aligners as a part of our non-surgical facelift program to realign your teeth in order to create more space between your chin and your nose. This rejuvenates your profile, giving you a mini facelift!

How to Begin the Process

Is all of this sounding great so far? We hope so! There’s a lot to do, and we want to get started sooner rather than later! You might be wondering how the process begins, so let us take some time to explain the process from start to finish.

Consultation
It all begins with a consultation appointment. The first thing you need to do is to call our office to set up a consultation with us. We will take a look at your dental history and the current state of your mouth. We will also take some images to get a feel for how your smile is doing. Using that information, we can determine if Invisalign is the best treatment for you. We will also make sure YOU are happy with the possibilities using our Invisalign Outcome Simulator.

Invisalign Outcome Simulator
The Invisalign Outcome Simulator is a very powerful tool that will enable you to see exactly what your smile will look like at the end of your treatment. That way, you can make an informed decision before you ever agree to treatment! If takes about 20 minutes for us to scan your teeth, and then we will let the program work for the next 5 minutes. Once it is complete, we can look at YOUR possibilities with Invisalign treatment.

The Procedure

Now that you know how your first appointment will go, let’s take some time to consider the procedure itself. What can you expect from your Invisalign treatment, and what you will be doing while you watch your teeth adjust!

What You Need to Do: Your responsibilities are pretty straight-forward! You will need to keep your aligners clean by removing them before you eat and brushing them when you brush your teeth, and you will need to replace your aligner every two weeks from the series we give you ahead of time.

Of course, you’ll also need to be sure you are wearing your aligners for 22 hours each day, and maintain routine dental appointments. You will also see us every six weeks or so to be sure your teeth are moving correctly.

What Invisalign Does: While you are taking care of your teeth, your Invisalign aligners will be busy moving your teeth into position. The clear plastic will put pressure on your teeth to shift them into position efficiently. Each aligner adjusts your teeth ever so slightly further into alignment.

The Results: After 12-18 months, depending on the severity of your misalignment, your treatment will be complete! You’ll keep your last aligner to use as a retainer. Your teeth will be in optimal position, and you can go on enjoying life with your brand new smile!
