We live in a land of plenty where there are often more than one choice for medical corrections. Dental care is especially open to a variety of options for common ailments. For a missing tooth, you have a few options. One of those options is a dental bridge. With a few appointments, we can correct your gapped tooth with a restoration that leaves your smile looking and feeling back to normal!

It’s important to fill gaps in your smile because if you don’t fill the gap, surrounding teeth might move into the empty space, creating problems with your bite. Gaps are also a risk factor for grinding your teeth, which can lead to breaks and damage in your healthy teeth. There are a few different types of bridges, but we usually stick with a couple of types.

The Right Bridge For You

We generally use traditional bridges in our office. A traditional bridge is made up of two crowns with a pontic (false) tooth in the middle. We place the crowns on the healthy adjacent teeth to ensure that your bridge stays secure and steady. An alternative method to the traditional bridge is a bonded bridge. Rather than using crowns on either side, a bonded bridge using metal wings that can be bonded to the back of the adjacent teeth.

Should you ever need to have a bridge placed, we will help you select the type of bridge that is best for your smile. Contact us today to set up an appointment. We’d love to help you restore your smile into something that you are pleased with and comfortable showing off.
