Just thinking about losing a good number of your teeth greatly frightens you. Who can blame you? When you have very little teeth at your disposal, you can’t show yourself during fun social occasions because you expect other people to give you a difficult time as soon as your physical flaw catches their attention. You also have a very slim chance of gaining the approval of your boss and colleagues whenever you present a business proposal due to your slurred speech. Aside from that, you have to refrain from munching on your favorite dishes since you can’t bite and chew your food properly. With all of the trouble that tooth loss can give you, you have no other choice but to see to it that all of your teeth remain firmly inside your mouth.

To help you keep your teeth intact, we have listed some tips that you must strictly comply with:

  • Make it a point to brush and floss your teeth thoroughly. Brushing and flossing thoroughly can effectively rid your teeth of bacteria that are responsible for tooth loss.
  • Eliminate drinking and smoking from your lifestyle. Consuming alcoholic beverages and smoking can result to tooth decay and periodontal disease respectively.
  • Put on a mouth guard every time you participate in physical sports. Wearing a mouth guard while playing a physical game of basketball or football prevents your teeth from getting hit and falling out of your mouth.
  • Limit your diet to nutritional meals. Sticking to a diet that consists of fiber, calcium, and protein-rich foods helps keep your teeth in tip-top condition.
  • Try to control your sweet tooth. Eating and drinking sweet foods and beverages allows sugars to invade your teeth and inflict a significant amount of damage on them.
  • See your dentist as often as you can. This gives you an opportunity to have your teeth carefully examined and cleaned as well as learn additional techniques to ensure their stability.
